May be the fanciest ramen place I've ever been. The restaurant is gorgeous. Fancy cocktails, excellent ramen, and stunning desserts make for an overall upscale experience. Great service with some extra flair when the cocktails were served lol. The shishito peppers were extremely well seasoned and charred. Went with the classic Tokyo tonkotsu and it was the best bowl of ramen I've had in awhile. The soup was rich and flavorful. The chashu was thinly sliced and melted in your mouth. The noodles were perfectly cooked. $21 is a hefty price for a bowl of ramen but you are partly paying for the experience. Will be back to try the kakigori.

Excellent food. Good service. Casual but sexy ambiance. What's not to like about Tonchin LA? I rarely order or even go out for ramen, but saw one of my friends post this spot and decided I had to give it a try. Was definitely not disappointed at all and would come back!

Absolutely loved dining here -- this place wins on ambiance, service, and quality dishes! Though this place is on the pricier side for ramen -- they are Michelin-rated for a reason (Michelin 2021 @ NYC). Here is everything I recommend ordering: Tebasaki: these wings are seasoned to perfection! they do have a bit of a spicy kick with a crunchy skin Michelin-rated Tonchin Classic Tonkotsu: the broth is rich and I love how the chashu is thinly sliced instead of a thicker cut Matcha Kaki-Gori: this was my favorite dish of them all, you can taste that they use ceremonial-grade matcha!! The honey cream they put on top is such a unique twist and it tastes exactly like an iced matcha latte ceremonial-grade Side note: the tableware they use here is high-quality and perfect for those Instagram shots Parking is a bit tough in the area (street), but there is a valet option.

I discovered Tonchin when we were randomly walking around new york city on a cold night in November. We were hungry after walking 20,000 steps and this "bib gourmaund restaurant" (for their NY location) was an awesome experience. After coming back home to LA, I was happy to hear that this location was opening in LA. I've been to Tonchin LA several times since that NY night. Know that everything on the menu is good. I've enjoyed their salads and chicken wings as appetizers in the past. My wife had a chashu riceball last night and it was great! The chashu had a nice smokey flavor and the rice in their onigiri was perfect! I come for their ramen and their soup is one of my favorites - savory and umami without some of the overwhelming fattiness that you'll get at some spots. Drink menu isn't bad here either! Wife likes their japanese beers. They have Japanese Whiskeys that are great, but pricey. They have cheaper "highballs", but these are too watered down. I enjoyed having a yuzu sake and that was strongly citrusy and delicious! My favorite thing on the menu is actually their strawberry kaki-gori (shaved ice). Ice is smooth, their tart honey cream gives nice texture, and their strawberry syrup is so refreshing. This is probably one of my favorite versions of shaved ice that can be found anywhere. I need to try their popular "tokyo banana" dessert; however, I can't stop ordering the kaki-gori, which I probably love even more than their awesome ramen. If I come here, then I usually make a reservation on resy. It's really far from home for me, but I like to come here before coming to an event in Hollywood.

Since Tonchin LA opened, I've added this into my ramen rotation for whenever I'm craving ramen. I love the tonchin in NY and this location is just as amazing. I'd say that the snow crab potato is a must try if you don't try anything else, this is the one to pick. The taste of the overall potato salad is perfect and doesnt feel heavy or oily, actually feels refreshing and perfectly balances out with a bowl of ramen. My personal favs are the smoked dashi ramen and the tsukemen (dipping ramen). The smoked dashi has amazing flavor and the dipping ramen is made very well. The shaved ice is a must try here. Not too sweet at all, and the cream on top is creamy and compliments the shaved ice. The people are all extremely friendly here and the interior is modern overall.

gorgeous upscale restaurant with moody lighting and a clean, modern interior. the standout is the incredible service here - everyone was so friendly and attentive the entire time we were dining. our party of three had the appetizer sampler (cucumber, shishito, and mushrooms), the tonkotsu ramen, the chicken mazemen, the tebasaki, and matcha shaved ice for dessert. the appetizers were pretty good - the cucumber was our favorite, as it was super flavorful and fresh. the shishito peppers and mushrooms were also good! the mushroom kimchi is a very unique touch. the tonkotsu ramen was also delicious - the attention to detail really stands out in this dish! the noodles are on the thinner side and less chewy than other ramen places. the mazemen was also good, more on the refreshing side. it's served cold and almost tasted like sesame noodles, topped with cashews, bean sprouts, and a good amount of shredded chicken. the tebasaki wings were amazing as well - crispy and juicy, packed with savory flavor. overall, we were pretty impressed with all of the dishes! they're all pricey, but the quality of ingredients and attention to detail is apparent in every dish (especially the entrees and the wings). lastly, the matcha shaved ice was a great way to end the meal. it seems like a water based shaved ice, as opposed to richer milk or cream-based versions. it was so refreshing, had red beans inside, and was topped with sweet and salty cream. it was like eating a matcha einspanner if that makes sense! definitely a unique and delicious dessert that isn't too heavy or sweet. overall, if you want to impress someone with a stunning interior, top-tier service, and delicious food and dessert all in one, i'd recommend checking out this spot :)

We have eaten here twice in 2 weeks it's too good. I recommend the cucumber, spicy wings and tan tan ramen. I DREAM about those wings. My husband and I saw that they were highly favored in reviews and trust me they do not disappoint. They also have a banana dessert which our server, Liv, recommended and it was absolutely to die for. We were going for the shaved ice initially but listened to Liv's suggestion and we are so glad we did! We requested Liv the second time because of how great his service was. This will be one of our new regular winter spots. The food and service is top of the line. Thank you Tonchin!

A relatively new ramen shop, not quite 2 years old. This place has some very comfortable and inviting décor. I don't think I've seen ramen shop with such a well-stocked bar. I ordered the cucumbers, which were sprinkled with an onion-vinegar sauce. They were deliciously sweet and very refreshing. I also ordered the Tonchin Class Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen - tonkotsu pork broth, roasted chashu pork, egg, scallion, menma, and seaweed. There's no spice variant here, but they will give you a jar of chili oil to add some heat to the Ramen. The broth was flavorful, and the noodles were nicely cooked. It was a solid bowl. Service was friendly and helpful. I came in for a late lunch which was perfect timing, because I was the only one at the counter. No dumb fees added to the bill. Street parking can be difficult, but where there's a will, there's a way.

Food was flavorful, and menu items are unique. For it's Michelin rating, I had a bit higher of expectations but maybe I just have to come back and order different items off the menu. The vibes were nice & they had a good playlist going. Service was good and staff were all friendly.

Hip Japanese spot with ramen, dumplings, and other fusion items. I saw that the New York outpost received Michelin recognition so I came here for my birthday dinner. Making a reservation online in advance was easy and we got seated immediately when we arrived on a Wednesday evening. Street parking. Credit cards accepted. Indoor dining only. There was table with kids but it seemed to be mostly couples. Tried both the smoked dashi ramen and the original tonkotsu. For those who like a stronger fish flavor, the dashi is a unique option, but I liked the original one better. Noodle texture was solid and it was a filling meal, but I didn't leave overfly full. They gave us two complimentary drinks for my birthday and the service was really nice. The ambiance was casual but still cool. Overall, a nice spot for elevated Japanese fusion fare.
